Re: Audition with no set/song list beforehand?
Honestly, if I was auditioning another drummer, I'd do it the same way. This way, they can tell how well you pay attention, mesh with the bassist and rest of the band, think on the fly and can adjust. Also, they get an idea of your personality and attitude. All the most important skills in my opinion. In addition, it will test your memory of the songs from that era.
