Since they are sheet metal cymbals, they are considered beginner level. IMO the ZXT's and ZBT's don't sound that bad though. There are much better Zildjians out there, however.

Gretsch Renown Maple, Paiste Signature, Reflector, and Dark Energy
Ive tried the ZXT and i didn't like them. IMO they very high-pithed and clangy. I would say beginner.
I love these symbols i use them. i would say intermediate
they are beginners
but that doesnt mean they might not sound good to you
check them out
hit them a couple of times
also dont neglect
sabain
paiste
meinl (if your lucky enough to have a dealer near you)
just hit on everything
and decide what you like the best =]
i would say more4 intermediate than beginner. they sound better than the planet z and zbt lines.

I had some ZXT's and i thought they were great for the price. Ride and crash I enjoyed but the hats were to loud and trashy and just sounded bad.
But I rate them to anyone who wants some good intermediate pies...:D

they are a good cymbal to start on and not too expensive. I recommend that you start off with something like that until your ear develops to the sound you really want to get out of your cymbals. So dont go spending big bux until you really know what you want. I still have low end cymbals like ZBT and 502's and I am beginning to really know what sounds i want out of my cymbals and hats
listen to livewire, he knows what hes talkin about! i made the mistake of buying cymbal to early, before me ear got tuned into different cymbal sounds. now im stuck with a pack of 800 cymbals, and i cant seem to sell them.
Get some advice from a drummer who knows his (or her!) cymbals, but like most of the others have already said, listen to them all and find what sounds best to you. Your ear is different from anyone else's, and what you play will also influence your selections. That, however, is the fun part!
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

i think it intermediate because of zbt and planet z are under that
