    Default trying new hi-hat setup

so after reading long and hard about ideas for hi-hats I decided to try using my 2 16" crash b8's
one is damaged and has a chunk cut out of it so I'm using it as a bottom hat.
I'l play a bit with it and let you know how it sounds, so far I like it

I turned two 16" Sabian XS's crashes into hi-hats once.
Definitely different but I loved the deep tones!
I put them back to crashes after finding another pair of hi-hats in a cymbal bag lying in the corner haha

Started out with A-Custom 14s, way too bright for me. Moved to New Beat 14s, much better chick and closed, but still too bright slosh and open. Now I've got an A-Custom 16 on the bottom with a Dream Bliss 16 on top. Decent chick, and slosh and open tones that I love. Heck, I may try 18s sometime. 😄
    The boomy things:
Mapex Orion Classic 6 pc, transparent violet burl
    The pingy/crashy things:
K Custom Dark and K Darks
    K Sweet
    Meinl Byzance
    Silken Sebring and Avus
    Dream Bliss and Contact
More cowbells than I have cows.
    The "quiet time" things:
    Zildjian L80 low volume cymbals
    Aquarian Super-Pads
Roland TD9, Pintech drum triggers, Yamaha cymbal triggers

cool setup old, I'm supposed to get a new set of Sabian xs20 this week, so I'm going to have my b8's for sale, not sure what I'll do with the 16" combo I have
