Hey Ricardo -
Are you still playing with Jai and Rock Candy?
The gig I played this weekend was at the Windham Hotel over behind Alltel Arena. A bit closer (across the river, anyway) to your traditional stomping grounds!

if i was playing american rock A custom anyday everything else K dark
Right now it's the 18" K Constantinople. If I could have only one crash, that would be it. However, years ago there was a ridiculously thin 10" K splash with the brilliant finish, that was so paper thin that it was a little warped on one side. That thing sounded better than any splash I have heard before or since. eventually it cracked in a huge way, but while it lived, it was amazing.
Cut it large and kick it into place!

No change, still my favorite. I made some cymbal changes recently and checked out a ton of cymbals before I made my selections. I looked at hats, rides, and crashes from both Zildjian and Sabian and all series were fair game. As far as crashes go, this guy is still my king of the roost although I did dig the Sabian HHX 18" Evolution crash ... that is one great sounding crash ...

Zildjian A Custom 16” crash is my favorite. I have 3 of them although each sounds a little different. So I have my favorite among the 3.

20" crash of doom, 20" k sweet, or a 20" k con medium thin low ride as a crash
Paiste Dimensions 16" Medium Heavy Crash. Perfect left side crash. Sounds perfect every time.
This changes often for me. But currently, my Sabian 18" AAX Freq Crash has been the go to.
Have yet to really find that one yet and am actively searching for it for the last 2 weeks. I know I will only get thin crash cymbals from now on and have it narrowed down to a Zildjian A thin and an Istanbul Agop Paper thin both 18"... Trying something new and trying to buy the best individual cymbals to my ear regardless of brand or model and see if they gel together. So far I have decided on 2 rides, a 20" K and a 21" Zildjian Rezo ride.

I have only cracked 2 cymbals and both were K hybrid crashes but I think that has to do with the 2 different lathings more than the thickness. It would seem to me that thinner cymbals would be less likely to crack because they give and bend much more than medium or heavy cymbals? Not really sure though.

IMHO, thin crashes break too easily. I have lived with medium thin 18" crashes for decades and have never had 1 break on me.

For me is was a custom 18" saluda decadence with some hand hammering. It sounded similar to the paiste signature dark line crashes
