I'll take door #3.
Seriously, I would take the money. In this day and age you would be foolish not to.
Would you rather:
a.) have tons of chops and massive respect for said chops by your peers, but only make a mediocre living playing locally?
b.) only be able to groove but travel the world with a famous band making a ton of money?
(You can only pick one.)

Show me the money. I'd love to be able to groove so steady that I could make a living at it.
b. without a doubt
b. all the way!
all the best...
b.
b. Hands down. No question.
B... Sorry I'd sell out :/
B.
I could always hire toadies to 'respect' me.
I guess I'm the weirdo, but I would pick A.
I am too old to play out in a band and I only play for self satisfaction. I have been a music fan all my life.
I have realized now that rock and roll would not have been, if not for the drummer. It drives the music. It is the base, the beat.
Guitars are just fluff to me.
Sorry if I ruffle feathers or stepped on toes because i surely do not mean to.
Take care and seeya!
Jim
I am going with A. Along with all that money comes the problems attached.
I'd probably go with "A" as well. I'm not concerned about having a ton of chops, but not interested in the road life, money or the problems associated with either.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
