This is an interesting piece on an exotic bird that makes tapping noises with its feet. It "modifies sticks and pods and uses them to drum regular rhythms". - Fascinating!

wow great read and videos. beautiful birds.
there are owls that live in the trees around the house here. They don't drum but their territorial calls are very unique. I don't know if it's the male or the female that makes the calls, maybe both. It almost sounds like laughter, and at 3 in the morning! i have a couple of nice owl feathers that i found in the yard.

I've heard that even after repeated requests, they still refuse to play Freebird.

Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
