It's half-note triplets.................(1 2 3 4) ONE 2 3 FOUR 1 2 THREE 4 1 TWO 3 4 ONE 2 3 FOUR
My band is adding this song to the set list and I think I have an idea of the intro but just seeing how others would count in this intro?

1,2,3,4. You could simplify and just do a 2 count. It's a simple 4/4 tune.
For my band, it would be "however you need to get the whole band to hit the beats together and sound good", LOL.
If I tried to explain the technical count to them, there's no way it would work. We'd have to practice it by feel until we got it.
Even if it's not 100% accurate to the song, as long as the band is together, no one will ever know....well, maybe 1 in 100 people. Heck, if an experienced drummer (like many of us are) has to listen to it multiple times to figure it out, what's the chance of a regular person knowing it's not spot-on.?

Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
You know, that's really a cool and interesting song. It's all about syncopation, but the drums are not fancy...just a straight beat. The bass, rhythm guitar and vocals are all different rhythms, but woven together to form the song. The vocals will have to be spot-on in terms of timing or it won't work.

It doesn't matter. Song is 4/4. Count 4 come in on 1. Count 2 come in on 1. Again, song is 4/4. It's a 2 measure intro. I've put the count in bold red where he hits the pies. He hits the snare on the final 4+ then goes into the groove on 1
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +<snare 1 <GROOOOOVE
