so i hear this is a good reso for drums. but since this is a super thin head already, would it be a bad idea to put it as a reso if my batter is a single ply ambassador? the reason i say this is because im wondering if the overtones would be to strong?

i would say thats about as "open" sounding as you can get.

They are about the only head I would use for a resonant head. Or another manufactures head of equal weight. That is what they are designed for.

oh nono, sorry i went a bit off topic there. i got stock reso's but i got EC2's as batters. i was sayin when I get the single ply coated ambassadors, the sound will be so different.

Your stock resonators will be diplomate weight I would bet. If you put coated ambassoders on they will make a difference over the EC2's. It will open up your toms for sure!

Yes having an ambassador on top and a diplomat on bottom is a good combo. Most drummers always put a thinner head on the reso side..... Emperor on top and Ambassador on bottom follows that formula too.
