That was one of my biggest issues when I began playing the blues. I really started paying attention to Chris Layton - a guy who is the King of the Pocket - and decided if it was good enough for him then it's good enough for me.

Ironically I began receiving more calls after I took that approach.

It's the key for all types of music. I've played with a lot of Blues players from my area over the years and I learned that lesson early on. Basically, you know you're doing a good job when no-one notices you and the bass player over the singer and guitar player lol.
