Beautiful finish. The males armory are solid drums.
swee****er
Local music store gave me a nice discount to go with them on this deal. It's a six piece Mapex Armory. I can't give the exact price I got it for, but it's lower than Swee****er, Musicians Friend, and Guitar Center.
I did look at a used kit that Ricardo has, but couldn't pass up this deal on a brand new kit. Wife wanted me to get new as well.

Beautiful kit!! Congratulations.
Congrats on the new kit!
Are you getting black hardware, too? That really sets off the finish. I like it with the brass of the cymbals as contrast. All in all a very cool look. I know Rick will be disappointed but happy for you, too. Bitter Sweet(water.)

I picked up some Evans EC2 batter and G1 resonate heads for it today. I've seen some say they like the stock heads that come on it, but I always try to change my heads out when I can.

I too, Whip. I just got a new Crush kit recently and whenever I got a new kit in the past I always have new heads ready on standby. I got EC2's also for my Crush kit. . . . . .good heads! I think that was a good choice for your Armory set.
I'm not always in agreement with this. When you spend big dollars you get the best heads. Most of my TAMA kits came with Evans G2 clear heads but with the TAMA logo on them. Not all brands do this but I would think the higher end kits would accommodate. I could be wrong. I'm also pretty sure most DW owners keep the factory heads on for a while.

Mine is coming with Remo UT heads with the Mapex stamp. I've never played these, but have seen reviews saying they are very thin.

I don’t think the Remo UT heads are that bad. I think it’s mostly that they’re a clear single ply. That’s just not the sound most of us are looking for.

Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
My 9 year old asked me today if he can use the kit I currently have to continue to learn on. I believe I'm going to let him, but will strip it down to one rack tom and a floor tom until he is proficient.
