    Default Good Story for Rick-the-Drummer

Years ago a child addressed a letter to “The World’s Greatest Drummer.” A jazz fan in the NYC post office saw the envelope and had it delivered to Gene Krupa. Krupa saw the envelope and forwarded it, unopened, to Max Roach. Roach saw the envelope and forwarded it, unopened, to Buddy Rich. Rich opened the envelope and the letter inside began, “Dear Ringo…”

    Yep...................I stole it.
I heard Ringo is now Sir Ringo...............congratulations !

That's funny. It wouldn't surprise me if it were true.

    I read the news today.......
Oh Boy! About a lucky man that made the grade.

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Congrats to Ringo. Not my most favorite drummer, but definitely one of the most influential. Well deserved.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

Seems like all the big name English musicians are knighted at one time or another. Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Elton John, Sir Ringo Starr, Sir Paul McCartney., Sir Van Morrison, Sir Rod Stewart etc etc.

They have run out of people that actually deserve it, war hero's and the like. This is what used to be referred to as scraping the bottom of the barrel.
