Hahahahahahaha, man that is an optical illusion of the better kind. They are only about 4 to 6 inches above the snare and roughly the same height as the 8" tom. Or maybe that was after I adjusted them down. I don't remember but yeah, they aren't normally chin height. Playing LaGrange would be catastrophic.
