I have a 13"x7" ddrum maple snare that came with my pocket maple kit.
I think it is kinda junk. However, I hear that there upper end stuff is nice.
My "throw off" constantly throws itself off... and the tension rods come loose about every two songs.

If I were to buy my snare on its own... I would not pay more than $50.00

    But, thats just me. :-)

I seriously think ddrum drums are just crap, Vegas i had the SAME problem with all three of my snare ddrum snare drums, I strongly recommend a different snare drum.

i have the same maple as my side snare

    its really ringy

good for reggae and stuff but you know

    not great for rock

    i recommend looking at a 14x 6 or 14 x 7

Tank, I think the snare sounds good... However, it is not well built.
It has too many issues for me to recommend it to anyone.
Sound is always most important to me...but quality is a close second.

Again... you asked about quality. Its poor.
I dont know what your budget is... but I bought a Gretsch snare for $150.00 a couple years ago from Guitar Center, and its an amazing piece for the money.
