Default Left hand exercises, rudiments and warmups

Here is a new video I made on warmups and rudiments focusing on the left hand to build it up to the right. If you do these for a month or 2 your left hand will notice a huge difference.

It would make for a quite video. Although I do use my couch cushions and have been starting on pillows. I also find just ripping on the floor tom for a while works well too for a nice burn.

That prologix pad is pretty low rebound to be honest. it makes a huge difference.

Both Emmanuelle Caplette and Dennis Chambers have mentioned the use of pillows.

As for me, I have never owned a pad in my life. Whatever speed I have (or don't have) is because of pillows.

I'm trying to work a lot harder on consistency and clarity right now. If anything I have gotten a bit slower but my hits are getting more accurate and powerful. Pillows will really help with control so i'll give it a go.

Just be prepared for the wife to join drumchat to yell at you when she asks why all the pillows are destroyed.. "rickthedrummer told me to do this" just kidding.

Scotty, if the wife wants to yell at me, she would have to get in a line that, the last time I looked, was 37 miles long. I had to put up port-a potty's Tell her to pack a lunch.

I need to get back to working on stuff like that on a daily basis.

I wish I had more hours in a day, and started doing this stuff at 3 years old. My fills are SO much better and my grooves actually groove. I think its a combination of left hand confidence, better ghost notes, control, and speed.
