    Default Interesting info on Ian Paice ( fireball )

    As drummer, we all love the intro to fireball. It was the inspiration to some other songs where drummers had similar intro’s.
    Although Ian Paice only used a single bass, he needed a double bass for this song. While they were rehearsing in the studio he just couldnt get the groove right with a single bass. As luck would have it, the Who just finished recording a few hours earlier in the same location so Ian went into that particular studio and borrowed one of Keith Moon’s bass drums. So that song has one of Ian Paice’s kick drums and one of Keith Moon’s.
    I thought that was kind of a cool story.

    Paice has been a top-shelf drummer for 50 years........................and he is still out there getting it done.

    Not only is Ian Paice a great drummer, he comes across as a total gentleman.
