As much as I like beech, and consider it the ultimate shell material, I really really do.. I consider the Recording Customs a better set for the purposes of making albums. Beech could do it but I just feel true love when I hear Rec customs because they were in Wayne's World and I loved that movie. Recording customs just do this thing that I haven't seen from a lot of other drumsets, and to be honest - in a perfect world I would be allowed to own them. I just love the sound i've heard from every clip i've heard of them. Especially from Carter Beauford. I'm sort of a Mapex guy, but that's just a mighty fine series that could sell me on it anyday. Unless we're talking a slingerland, i've always been a sucker for those.
