Default Where can I find the worst cymbals?

    Hello,

This is my first post here and it's not the usual one.

In the nineties when I bought my first drum kits they often came with the worst cymbals imaginable. Kind of strange sheets of metal that dent every time you hit them. I remember laughing about them at the time.
Now when I listen to recordings I made at the time I think that is one cool sound. Like puusch!
I've tried looking for similar things but believe it or not it's quite hard to find.
Anyone know what I'm talking about and know how I might find one or even what I'd call it?
    Many thanks.

man I just threw out a bunch of those pie tins!
I buy and sell drums as I find them online and find good deals.
A lot of them come with those crappy fake cymbals.

I would just look around on your local craigslist. I see them all the time.

Not sure if they still make them but there was a pdp set that was absolute trash. Hi hats and a crash I think. They were basically all the same cymbals. Similar ones on d2 drum sets

    Thanks.
I've been looking but they're so bad that no one even thinks to sell them.
Especially because they deform after you play them once!
I'll keep looking but I never know how to even describe them. Cymbal seems a bit grand!

Thanks. I'll have a look. Yes I used to use a single hit as a crash. After they're beaten up a bit I love the trash can sound.

Generally the ones that come with entry level drumkits are the kind you describe. A real trash can lid sound to em, easily dented. Not a long term investment, one would say.

Most likely they are brass, not bronze cymbals, and are very thin. Get one if you want/need one, but I'd recommend getting real/professional cymbals that will sound better and last. Each to their own however...good luck !
