The ceiling in my basement is quite low. I'm 5' 10" and when standing behind my kit my head almost hits those beams.

So, I've been trying to come up with a way to get both my 8" toms in a comfortable place to use them. Above the hi hat was the most obvious place but i like my hi hats up high so that was not working out. I recently saw a Thomas Lang video where he sets up his kit and stole the idea from him. I mounted a small curved bar to my hi hat stand and the side bar on my rack. Works great , got them both where i want them.. I also scaled the kit down , I removed a 16" crash and an 18" china. lol Also got rid of the 4 china's up high. It's all trial and error ,that was an error.

Looks like fun to play. Definitely a basement beast only.
