Most recently I had the two 8" toms over the hi-hat but I don't really like them there. So this afternoon I tore it all down and came up with this.

Love seeing that kit. I'm hanging on to my Pacific CX kit for life. Some of the best and most overlooked drums ever made. Period.

I have a couple of the o-zone cymbals. I love them!
It's like a cross breed between a crash and a china.
It's a great in between for those who hate the harsh sound of a china.

The one I have with the holes is an Istanbul XIST china. It sounds like a regular china but I believe the holes give it a quicker decay then my other china's.

For the 40+ years I've been playing I've never had my toms out of order size wise. They have always gone small to large. Having that second 8" tom between the 12" and 14" is quite interesting. I'm also really liking my ride up a bit higher where it is now. Still looking to add a 24" kick and my main kick and move the 22" to the left.Had to have a new roof put on the house and that kind of ate up more funds than planned. Maybe for my birthday this January.

It looks like fun kit to play. I am a four-piece kit guy myself. Peace and goodwill.

Well for the limited time I've been playing with this new set up I have to say I don't like the second 8" tom where it is. It was new and interesting at first but It just doesn't fit my playing style so it's getting moved.

I think it would be hard to get used to my toms being out of order

I felt the same way when I looked at where it was placed.

I like the bongos. Nice touch.

Also looks like the 18" needs some stick action.

I also agree the CX series was way underrated. Every bit as good as a Yamaha Stage Custom.

Do those china's blow away your overhead mix?!
Could be the photo angle but they look super close

No they are good , not as close as they look. The mic's I use are only for my headphones. I have one inside the kick as well as on the batter head side of the kick. Then the two over heads and a tom mic hanging in the middle. Saves on my hearing and I can Eq them to give the drums some nice warmth and low end.

Stole that from Bozzio. I'm currently torturing myself attempting to learn several Zappa tunes. I'm considering putting the two 18" wuhan china's up there also.

Not to discount your abilities and the ways to utilize a rack but I know places that won't fit due to low ceilings. lol
