Welcome back! Glad to hear things are getting back on track for you. Of all the situations to meet someone, that’s not one I ever would have suspected...but that’s always how it seems to work. Best of luck in 2019!
Hey fellas. I've been away from the forums for a while. Due to a divorce, I had to move out of the house about 9 months ago, into an apartment. Now before you go saying "Sorry to hear it", trust me, it's a much better situation now, but thanks anyway. However, being in a 1 bedroom apartment is far from the ideal situation for a drummer! Just before moving into the apartment, I traded my Mapex Meridian kit for an electronic kit, and played that for a little while, but I just couldn't get into the e-kit. So I posted that up for sale as well. Through that sale ad, I met an amazing woman, who is also a drummer. She and I have been dating for a few months now. Being that my lease is going to be up in a couple months, and I'm going to be moving out and renting a house, I've been looking at getting another drum kit. My girlfriend is just as excited to see me start drumming again soon. She's so excited that she just bought me a kit! We found a smoking deal on a 3 piece Gretsch Renown Maple kit. 10, 16 and 22 in Piano Black lacquer finish. It's a beautiful set! Now, I'm basically starting over. I have no cymbals, no hardware, etc. Just the 3 piece set. But it's a hell of a start!!

I can't hold it back, I gotta brag about my deal!! I got this Gretsch Renown Maple kit, and an almost brand new 20" Zildjian K Ride, for only $500!!! Yeah, I stole it!

Man what a great way to start off the New Years!!
And that for sure is a killer maple kit with great die cast whoops.
Congratulations on the new G/F and the house.
That's an awesome girlfriend
I completely missed the dog in the last pic. He blends right in with the floor and the drums, LOL.

What a great start to 2019
The Varukers.
Congratulations and welcome to the Gretsch family.
Renowns are so close to USA shells, nobody knows the difference; and for the price you paid.............wow !
Six-ply maple and gum with the cast hoops -- great drums.
Your drums are similar to mine -- I've had these USA shells for 41 years and they keep getting better with age..............

Welcome back! Glad to hear you are bouncing back from adversity. Nice kit btw ... that shell pack is a strong foundation for your soon to be new setup. Best of luck!
Welcome back dude! Glad to see you went with a Gretsch kit.
Thanks guys! Yeah, we just couldn't pass up this deal! We were originally looking at a Catalina set, for 300, but when we saw the Renowns, with a K ride, for 500, we had to jump on it!

Congrats on the good deal and the nice drums. Gibraltar hardware is what I would look into if I was into your situation. May those drums give you years of musical joy. Peace and goodwill.
