I know this really isn't about tuning... but it kind of is
Anyways, swapped out my resonant heads from Hydraulic to Genera Resonant Evans.
Made a crazy difference.

Oh yeah I imagine that would make a huge difference, just like changing hydraulic batters for non-hydraulic heads.

Yeah, big difference! Sounds great. My 16" floor tom currently has Remo Pinstripes on top AND bottom. I'm seriously considering swapping out the reso for something thinner.

1st) Harper is beautiful. That, of course, is thanks to Cailyn.
2nd) What possessed you to put hydraulics as batter and reso?
3rd) Tune that FT will ya?

I always use g2's over g1's, emperors's over ambassador's etc.
I will change to different batters but always stick to single ply plain resos.
I have been toying with putting a few cotton balls, or things inside my reso to cut back on the ring of the floor tom. I find you can put 100 moon gels on the batter but it will still ring out. Dampening the reso is a great way to shorten the tone without killing it.. Perhaps that was the reason for the hydraulics on the bottom?
