Crazy Weather...
This last week was one for the record. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Of course, Colorado got nailed with a bomb cyclone (never heard that one before). But Wednesday-Thursday here in Nebraska was just nuts....
The entire western 2/3 of the state was hit with this blizzard. Anywhere from 6” to 24”...along with 60-80mph winds. Heards of cattle were buried like skiers in an avalanche. Now THATS a proper blizzard. At the same time, the north and central eastern 1/3 of the state was hit with warm temps and lots of rain. Not a big deal, except the ground was already saturated and froze from the highest snowfall since 1914, which was still on the ground. The snow melted rapidly and the water had to go somewhere! Ice jams on all the rivers broke up...meanwhile, the Corps of Engineers was releasing increased amounts of water into the Missouri River. The result was widespread flooding of historic proportion. Multiple dams and levees have failed, creating massive water surges. Bridges and buildings were ripped away and carried away. Dozens of towns and even entire counties are being evacuated by the National Guard. Luckily, the south east corner of the state was relatively untouched.
In my town, we have moderate flooding on the river, but it should stay within the flood plain.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
