    Default Playing... wrists flat

I was watching this old Blas Elias video the other day.. he was the drummer for Slaughter back in the 80/90's and now performs with the blue man group..

He shows how he plays his set with his wrists flat vs sideways which came from his days in drum corp. I can see how you can get snappy wrists playing that way. I once in awhile consciously play flat wristed on the hi hat but working around the toms i go right back to sideways.

I think he claims flat wristed is the right way to play. I could be wrong gotta watch it again but a lot of really good drummers play sideways like Mangini for example so seems like it just comes down to preference. He's very technical in his approach.

Well so much for that. That was a pretty good video too.

Wouldn't it be like wrist control versus more like finger technique?
