So after being on backorder for several weeks, I finally received my 18" EMAD Ebony resonant head.

Here is a video comparing some different sounds.
I also added a bass drum riser at the end which made a WORLD of difference.

I have one of those risers that’s the plastic block/cradle that the shell rests on. My18” kick sounds MUCH better with it. However, it’s design doesn’t allow the pedal to sit flat on the floor.....so I never use it. I really need to get one like yours.

Again we are at Mr Zack's neighborhood delving into the many sounds available on any given drum, especially a 18" BD. I would not play a 18" BD. I would either turn it into a floor tom or a coffee table, but never would I use it as a BD.

Cailyn knows that you have 50+ snare drums. You buy 1, she sells 1 from the back of the rack. She knows that as drummers we can only count to 4, so she figures that you won't notice until you get down to 5 SD's.

In the meantime, get a 22" or 24" BD and tune it and you'll get a better range of sound with it.

Rick you realize that kit has three bass drums on it?!

    It has both a 22x18 and a 22x16 lol
The 18" is just a side bass drum.

Maybe he doesn’t play it with his foot. Think of the possibilities.... That’s all I’m gonna say...

I figured that someone would come up with that, and, oddly enough, I figured it would be you.
