Beautiful blue/olive Luddies ! WOW that brings back some memories.
I bought a Yammy ekit from Manny's around 1988.
At the time it was the top of the line in terms of technology -- and extremely user-unfriendly !
Once I got it figured out, we made it sound pretty tough; I ran a pair of bass triggers through an old Peavy 800 crossed over at 200 cycles.
It would definitely thump your head

Nice kit and congrats on the Harley gig!
We played our local Harley dealership about a month ago for a sales promo day. Bikes on display everywhere and bikers could come in and get their ride washed by beauties in bikinis. Man I can only guess how much money in bikes was on display on the lot that day ...

My brother had ‘our’ 1980 Chrome Yamaha 7000 kit before I was even born. I played it for years and it’s now back at his house and both my nephew and niece are playing it.
Next would be my 7pc Blue Oyster Glass DW Collectors kit from 2004.

I have a set of Yamaha Power Tour Customs that I bought in 1988 I don't play them much anymore. This last yr. I was using them at home to practice on. I made video with them recently and got a pretty good sound out of them.https://youtu.be/V1Yu4gWLZfg20170519_150350.jpg

I have a set of Fullerton Rogers I bought in 1971 when I was 18 from Tom LaFlame At Drums in Pittsburgh. 13 an 14" up top, 16" ft and a 22" bass. Some seam lifting on the toms and some flaking on a few bass t-rods,
otherwise pretty much pristine, and they still sound great. Oh yeah, the muffler on the 13 buzzes. Still haven't figured out what to so about it.
late8,
Thanks, I'll have to check it out.
I had a floor tom muffler (which I never use) that used to rattle.
I took the batter head off -- wrapped the muffler in an old soft cloth -- used white medical tape to wrap the cloth and keep it in place.
Replace and tune batter head -- problem solved.

My old Export kit. Bought new in 1988 & then sold 2015. Never once let me down & was thrown off stage a few times.
A mess in Birmingham. Varukers gig 199X something by Kevin Frost, on Flickr
The Varukers.
Those old long lug Exports are indestructible. I kinda wish I would have kept mine.

The kit I had the longest was a 90s Premier XPK in a purplish swirl finish...got it in high school and kept it well after graduating college so over 10 yrs....was young and that kit was abused.... thunderous bass drums and power toms too. Wished I took better care of it and learned how to tune properly...but hey you live and learn.

I bought my Tama Artstar ES kit with my own money in 94, when I was 14. I actually saved up for it by having a paper route.
The only thing I don’t like is the power-tom sizing, but I’ve worked around that with a 1 up 2 down setup.
Was it like my XPK?

Technically, this is the kit that I’ve owned the 2nd longest....about 6yrs or something like that. It was the first kit that I bought to refurbish. The BD had been painted with black spray paint and the Spurs and “rock-loc” were broke. It now looks like new and sits in cases in my basement.
