Above is a link to some concert footage of one of the many versions of a Zappa band.
This specific band had some great players (Ruth and Ian Underwood, the three Fowler brothers, George Duke, Jean Luc-Ponty, and -- on the drums -- Ralph Humphrey) and this specific tour was a collection of instrumental pieces, some of which were very jazz-influenced.
I was fortunate to see this band play the UTA campus at Arlington, Texas during 1973.
I know a lot of people don't care for Frank Zappa or his music but I wanted to let you see that his entire life was not devoted to R-rated comedy music.
