Emmanuelle Caplette and/or Hannah Ford could hug me at any time. Doesn't have to be "Hug a drummer day", Oct 10th would be fine.
We all need a hug right? The 10th is National Hug a Drummer Day.
But why in the world should anyone hug a drummer?

'Give the Drummer Some' (hugs that is) on Thursday.
Reasons to hug drummers:
- 1. We're soft like kittens.
- 2. Drummers need love too.
- 3. We keep the beat so your favorite band doesn't fall apart.
- 4. It might help us from feeling worthless as a human being, lol.
- 5. It's better than hugging a smelly guitar player.
Can you think of any more? Drum Bum is giving away a prize package with cool drummer stuff for the best answer.

I hope I get a lot of them! hahaha
I got hugs from my grandchildren on 10/10, but I don't think they thought of it as hugging a drummer. To them, I'm just G-pa.

I played at my 50th high school reunion about a month ago, not exactly Oct. 10th, but the drummer definitely got more than his share of wonderfully fulfilling hugs.
Got a big goodbye hug from the wife yesterday. She left for a spiritual retreat last night and wont be back till Sunday. Not gonna lie a little time off is good but I will miss her by Sunday : )

Congratulations Susan Scott from Erving, MA. Here was Susan's entry:
Here were some of the entries:My favorite drummer in all the world is my son, Dan. When Dan was a young boy he had multiple social and focusing problems which lead to home and school issues. His father and I had him tested and the psychologist said he was on the autistic spectrum. Long story short...it was recommended he try learning an instrument. As it turns out, drumming was his thing. Dan was self taught while he was young and then as he grew older and had music in school he became very good with the drums. It somehow saved him from a life of misery and maybe even a life of crime. He is always sought after to play in bands and record albums. The best thing about Dan, is that he is very humble and he has turned into a wonderful adult, husband, and father. I feel that learning how to play the drums was a huge boost to his self esteem and gave him confidence which in turn helped him to do well at other things and become a productive human being.
I love to hug my wonderful son, Dan the Drummer!
Best,
Susan
sometimes it is lonely at the back of the stage behind a shield or in an enclosure.
on the outside we are very loud, but deep inside we are kinda shy
it takes us the longest time to set up and tear down
we are always being told to tone it down
when we lose a stick, there is no one there to give us another

We use our arms more than the rest of the band so we are naturally better huggers!

A drummer is always wanting to rock it out and jack it up and play a song the way his band mates and the crowd loves it to be played.. it’s the back bone
The back beat. Good drummers will give a show for ya too.
So hug a sweaty drummer.
