Rick, that new Crystal Beats kit is beautiful! I can just see your inspiration soaring. You'll be playing well into your 110's!

They are still sitting in my living room.

1 of the reasons I bought them was thinking that a new set might bring back my interest in playing, but it hasn't. I haven't played in about 4 months, and while my wrists are in good shape and there are 2 sets downstairs, it appears that any and all interest for playing is gone.

Rick, I get like that sometimes. When I concentrate on learning one new fill or beat and really work to get it down, it re-news my interest and gets me excited again. Don't rehash the stuff you already know, that's what wears you down. Find something you like on YouTube and resolve to learn it. When you do, everything will change. Trust me, it works. It takes some discipline at first because we always want to play what we're familiar with when we first sit down at the drums. Where the new kit failed (I don't blame you for trying), this will work.

    You've got this!

I thought you bought a set of RubberMaid drums so you could play down in your (unfinished) drum room.

I'm ready to just take my daughters toy kit and rock that out for awhile.
