    Default Dunnett titanium snare drum

Yes, I have a bunch of snare drums. No, I probably didn't need another...

But, I came a cross a Dunnett Titanium snare drum for a good price and couldn't pass it up. I've played two different Dunnett Titanium snares on two separate occasions and was blown away both times.

Most have the "raw" finish, this one was built in 2011 and has the more rare polished finish. I ordered it this morning, it should ship this weekend. I've wanted one of these forever, particularly in the polished finish. It was a case of the right drum becoming available for the right price at a time that I happened to have the funds needed on hand. I'm pretty excited about it.

Here is a photo from the seller.

Nice. Classy. I have titanium parts on my sportbike. Just judging by the feel and appearance of it my intuition says it should kind of be a cross between aluminum and steel, shell-wise. Hard as hell but light and somehow not very dense feeling. Doesn't seem like the most resonant substance which is why I include the aluminumness.

I've played a couple of titanium snares. Your description is close.

The two that I played were capable of being tuned down to a fat and swampy tone, while still maintaining sharp stick definition. It's a unique flavor.
