Default Pork Pie Lil Squealer or Yamaha stage custom?

Howdy all. I am looking to upgrade the son's kit (an old Yamaha DP). Finding second hand drums where I live in southern New Zealand is a real needle in a haystack operation. I have been looking for months and 2 options have turned up but I have little drum knowledge and hope you could help. I have a Pork Pie lil squealer kit with some stands (double tom DW 9000), cheap snare stand and PDP hi-hat stand for about $850 (USD) or a brand new yamaha stage custom with full hardware (600 series) and a cheap cymbal kit (Paiste 101) for $1150 (USD).

I have no idea if these kits are comparable. ANy help or experience you could share much appreciated.

this is a tough answer for me because I own both Pork Pie and Yamaha.

The Pork Pie is going to sound the biggest and loudest that's for sure. But I assume it's just a 4 piece kit?
Is the Yamaha a 5 piece kit?

They are both 5 piece kits

Both are great, but for a kit I'd go with Yamaha. Pork pie any day though for snare drums.
