    Default Alan Dawson

Alan Dawson was an amazing jazz drummer who played with and made albums with Dave Brubeck, Jaki Byard, Arnett Cobb, Al Cohn, Sonny Criss, Booker Ervin, Frank Foster, Terry Gibbs, Dexter Gordon, Gigi Gryce, Clifford Brown, Lionel Hampton, Illinois Jacquet, Hank Jones, Quincy Jones, Eric Kloss, Junior Mance, Charles McPherson, James Moody, Houston Person, Jimmy Raney, Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, Buddy Tate, The Cryan Shames, Warren Vaché Jr., Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson , Phil Woods, and others. He taught at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Some of his students were Tony Williams, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Smith, Kenwood Dennard, and many other noted drummers.

This is a little drum solo (only) while playing "Oleo" with Sonny Rollins.
