Usually I (along with others) make these special days known. 51 years ago today, I lost my best friend on the flip. He was 5' from me and was due to go home in 8 days.

I figured I would let this Memorial Day pass with D-Day+76 years coming up until I saw this. Omaha Beach, 85% casualties in the 1st 15-20 minutes.

I know I can't even imagine in my wildest nightmare what that would be like.... but my heart and prayers go out to all who have served and all who have lost from the wars

    Totally agree with Zak.
I remember going through the 1972 Viet Nam draft lottery; I drew a high number (329) and was classified 1-H.
My wife tells me I waste money on the PowerBall lottery and I'm not lucky............

Thanks for that heartfelt dedication/reminder Rick. Losing your friend must have been tough. I can't imagine.
