    Billy Higgins (another great drummer) played mainly free jazz and hard bop. As leader​, he made over 10 albums. He played with many different musicians. He made over 700 recordings and also appeared in movies. He was a house drummer for Blue Note records.

    This is Billy playing with Sonny Rollins (tenor Sax) in Italy, 1963 along with Don Cherry (trumpet) and Henri Grimes (bass). The song is
    entitled "52nd Street Theme" (done twice for some reason).

    This is Billy playing with Lee Morgan (trumpet), Joe Henderson (tenor sax), Barry Harris (piano), and Bob Cranshaw (bass) playing the famous song "The Sidewinder" from the album The Sidewinder.

    That's quite a resume! And 700 recordings?? Wow!!
    I'm less familiar with his drumming but still catching up after all these years.
