Sorting through lugs and parts. I’m short two of the longer bass drum pearl style lugs, two t- handles for bass drum hoop also.

Stage one of a kit that I stripped the black wrap off. I知 missing a couple lugs that were broken. All reso side rims and hoop are gone. Now it may become a concert Tom Kit. I値l probably fill the reso side lugs holes outside but leave it show inside in case I wish to drill it out and use it in the future.
All shells will be painted. Inside and out possibly. I知 thinking yellow right now. It値l be a little slow until I start getting into it.

Looks how my resurrection kit was done. Mine was a CB kit. 22X14 bass, 12 and 13" toms and 16" floor. Mine too had the black vinyl wrap. Came off easy except at the seams. I tried painting mine but I'm not painter so I opted for a "sim wood" wrap and they came out great. Used the kit for rehearsals until it sold last summer.

I probably have everything you池e missing...rims, lugs, etc.. those are probably standard stencil kit Pearl Style lugs. If you want to PM me what you need, I can dig through my massive stash of old drum parts. It may take me a few days, however. I have no use for the stuff since I switched to collecting vintage Ludwig shells.
If the wood is decent, staining is almost as easy as paint and gives great results. For the inside, I use automotive trunk paint in the Gray speckle. It痴 almost identical to the stuff Ludwig and Tama used. You may remember the old Pearl Export kit I fixed up a few years back;

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
N2Bluz, can’t pm you. You’re too loaded with messages.
Thanks Bish and N2Bluz!
I’ve tried the stain thing but this one person who used a veneered wood version inspired me to try it as a painted version instead.
Testing my artist skills..lol.

First coat absorbed a lot of paint. 2nd coat looks good but a 3rd looks like it’ll do the trick.

Not turning out like I really wanted but it is different. I may end up just wrapping these instead.
I started a vote poll to get opinions at beginning of this thread.

Everyone loves FREE... like this free drum forum. But like your car and even your drums, they require upkeep and maintenance and that requires money.
Will you consider Shopping at Drum Bum to help support this forum?
Or make a donation here.
I know from working with Drum Bum through the years, that this forum is costly to run. It requires server fees, hosting, ongoing moderation, advertising, software upgrades, security certificates and IT work when it breaks. All in addition to the expenses that come from running a business. These costs are offset (hopefully) by members that click through to Drum Bum to make a purchase now and then, if not make a contribution to help keep it running.
On behalf of Drum Bum, thank you for your consideration.
I say wrap it unless your in a David Lee Roth Cover band ...

Ludwig Classic Maple 22x16,10x8,12x9,16x16
PDP Concept Classic Bop kit 18x14, 12x8, 14x14
Decide whether this is love for the craft or simply an ego thing
http://www.redskymary.com/ NOT MY BAND, JUST A GREAT LOCAL BAND WHO SHOULD BE SOOO MUCH BIGGER IMO
I have painted all the drums yellow.
I’ve experimented mainly on the 12” tom. I wasn’t happy with the orange color or design. I tried in red but not liking this either.

Only the black looked better to me plus I got the design down better that I wanted on the drum.

The only issue is, the red is on the other side of this drum. I have to strip the paint and start over on this.
I’m ready to just paint it black...lol.
Maybe I can show this yellow and black design to a printer and get a wrap made. Maybe not with yellow but something else. I have other ideas too besides this....

This project is set aside for something else right now. Thank you to the few people that voted!
