    Martin Drew was an English jazz drummer who played with Ronnie Scott between 1975 and 1995 and Oscar Peterson bewteen 1974 and and 2007. He started playing when he was six years old and started playing professionally when he was thirteen.

    This is Martin playing "Mississauga Rattler" in Tokyo in 1983 with the Oscar Peterson (piano) quartet with Joe Pass (guitar) and Niels-Henning Orsted (NHO) Pederson (bass). All Giants of Jazz. It's pretty amazing jaw-dropping stuff.

    That is lightening fast! Wow! I'm surprised at how heavy that kick drum is for swing. Maybe it's just the way it was mic'd. And that bass solo! Damn!!
