Are concert toms suitable for various styles other than pop and rock? Jazz for instance?
    I am wondering about '70s 3-ply Slingerlands.

I think you can use whatever you'd like to but I believe typically not really for jazz. Concert toms are a little louder with projection but have a quick decay. I guess a little more wet or thuddy sounding than a warm tone that a reso head can help give.
It’s all in the ear of the beholder.

Hi Paul and welcome to our drumchat family! You could use them for some types of jazz like progressive jazz or fusion. I don't think they would fit in with standard swing or bebop.

    Thanks.
