Wow not even I have a 16" snare lol I do own a 15" snare but it's not 15" deep! lol
I wonder how this will sound... what snare wires are you going with?
With my 14x12 I found that the super wide 42 wire with a wider bed worked best.
Because I have an extra floor tom, I decided to try to make it a snare drum. What I have so far. Ground out a snare bed too. Waiting on heads also.

Wrapped this with a textured vinyl alligator skin. Made a butt plate from a couple pieces of aluminum. I needed something flat and close to drum because a floor tom leg ends up above it.
The rims I have for this were pretty rusty even after clean up so I decided to paint them black and set aside until I get heads.
Bought a set of 16” snare wires for this too.
Before buying the 16” snare wires, I wondered if 14” snare wires may have worked? Has anyone ever tried that?
