Jerry Allison

Jerry Allison (Jerry Ivan Allison) is a drummer who was born in 1939 in Hillsboro, Texas. He is best known as the drummer for recording with Buddy Holly and the "Crickets" and co-wrote "That'll Be the Day" and "Peggy Sue".

Jerry later marrie Peggy Sue Garron (who the song was named for)

After "the day the day that the music died" (which refers to the plane crash in which Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, Richie Valens, and J.P. Richardson died which Don McLean referred to in "American Pie") Jerry kept the band going and toured and recorded as "the Crickets". The Crickets recorded the song "I fought the Law (and the law won), but it was popularized by "The Bobby Fuller Four". The Crickest also backed up "The Everly Brothers.

Later they became the house band for Liberty records recording with Bobby Vee, Johnny Brnette and others. He also backed up Eddie Cochran

Jerry was inducted into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" as being a member of the Crickets.
