    Duff Clark "Duffy" Jackson is an American drummer who was born in 1953 in Freeport, New York. When he was a young boy he played with Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman before he finished school.

    In 1971 he moved to Los Angeles and played with Monty Alexander, Ray Brown, Herb Ellis, Lena Horne, Milt Jackson, Barney Kessel and others. He then toured Japan with Benny Carter and later played with Sammy Davis, Jr. (1976-1976). Later he played with Grover Mitchell and then toured Europe with Count Basie.

    In the 1980s he played with Lionel Hampton, Al Jarreau, James Moody, and Sonny Stitt. In 1985 he re-joined Count Basie's orchestra (with Thad Jones the leader). Then he played with Illinois Jacquet and Artie Shaw.

    Then he was back with the Count Basie orchestra with Frank Foster the leader. After that he relocated to Fort Lauderdale and played with Harry Allen, Billy Ross, ang the Manhattan Transfer.

    He recorded with with Monty Alexander, Sonny Stitt, Count Basie, George Benson, Cleveland Eaton, Roy Gerson, Lionel Hampton, Jon Hendricks, Chubby Jackson, Illinois Jacquet, The Manhattan Transfer, Eddie Miller, Grover Mitchell, Othello Molineaux, Ira Sullivan, Axel Zwingenberger, and others.

    This is Duffy playing "Ready Now That You Are" with the George Benson (guitar) Big Band playing " Ready now that you are" from the album "Big Boss Band".

    That's a hell of a resume! I've read about him in Modern Drummer but forgot who all he played with.

    He played with some great people.
