Miles Davis - Miles in the Sky
Miles Davis' "Mile in the Sky" is considerd to be the first "fusion" album which came about because of Tony Williams drum playing. Tony is considered to be the person who started fusion by his original way of drumming.
It was Tony's use of polyrhythms and metric modulation (changing tempos in response to the feeling of the music) that redefined the role of jazz drumming in jazz.
The album came out in 1968 with Miles Davis (trumpet), Wayne Shorter (tenor sax), George Benson (guitar), Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (bass), and Tony Williams (drums). It is was a milestone for jazz music.
This is "Stuff".
