    Jack Sperling (1922-2004) was an American jazz drummer who played in big bands and played as a studio musician for pop, jazz, movies, and television.

    He played with Bunny Berigan (trumpet) before WWII. After the war he played with the Glenn Miller band when it was led by Tex Beneke. After that he joined Les Brown and His Band of Renown and they played regularly for Bob Hope's radio program.

    Later he joined Bob Crosby's "Bobcats" and then continued on playing with Charlie Barnet, Page Cavanaugh, Pete Fountain, and Benny Goodman.

    He recorded on Henry Mancini on the tv show Peter Gunn and on the soundtracks Charade, and Days of Wine and Roses. He was the featured drummer for Hogan's Heroes.

    He also worked for the NBC Orchestra and worked on the Tonight Show, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, and Bob Hope, Dean Martin, and Andy Williams variety shows.

    Jack recorded with Bunny Berigan, Tex Beneke and the Glenn Miller Orchestra (13 albums), Les Brown (25 albums), Doris Day , The Modernaires, Dave Pell (5 albums), Tom Talbert Jazz Orchestra, Scatman Crothers, John Towner, Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, Pete Fountain (8 albums), Henry Mancini (7 albums), Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin (6 albums), Bud Freedman (5 albums), Abe Most, Paul Cacia, Elvis Presley, Dinah Washington, Teresa Brewer, Billy May Glenn Miller Orchestra Reunion, Walter Gross, George Van Eps, Freddie Slack, Jo Stafford & Paul Weston, The Kirby Stone Four, The Four Freshmen, Harry Belafonte, Sheb Wooley, The Kingston Trio, Chet Atkins, Ralph Marterie and the All Stars, Paul Smith, Benny Goodman, Page Cavanaugh, Sue Raney, Wynona Carr, James Brown, Bonanza, Godfrey Hirsch, Bob Crosby, Charlie Barnet, Carmen McRae, Bob Florence, John Sheridan, Peanuts Hucko, Don Fagerquist, and others.

    Soundracks he recorded on are The Five Pennies (1959), Peter Gunn (1959), Mr. Lucky (1959), Rawhide (1959), Days of Wine and Roses (1962), Hatari (1962), Bonanza (1962), Charade (1963), Bewitched(1964), Hogan's Heroes (1965), and Elvis (1968). He also played on many tv shows.
