Marco Tolotti was born in Brescia, Italy in 1981 and taught himself how to play the drums when he was fourteen. He started playing in punk and rock bands. Later, he starated taking drum lessons in order to "upgrade" his playing. He then started playing funk and soul music.

Four years after that he attended a musical academy in Milan. There he started playing jazz and decided that was what he wanted to play.

He also studied jazz with many great jazz drummers such as Jimmy Cobb, Louis Haye, Byron Landham, Joseph Farnsworth, Mike Baker , and Steve Williams. He then starated playing all styles of music.

He played and recorded Sonny Fortune, Sheila Jordan, Paolo Fresu, Kevin Mahogany, Philip Harper, Dino Piana, Franco Cerri, Albert Hera, Aldo Zunino, Massimo Faraņ, Fulvio Albano, Claudio Chiara, Terrell Stafford, Luciano Milanese, Sandro Gibellini, Alberto Marsico, Curtis Lundy, Lee Smith, Steve Nelson, Chico Freeman, Valery Ponomarev, Denise king, Michelle Hendrix, Roberto Soggetti, Angelo Peli, Gianni Coscia, Kirk McDonald, Sandy Patton, Ed Cherry, Jerry Weldon, and others.
