    Grand Funk - Live 1970

The Grand Funk Live album (Jacksonville Coliseum, Florida, 1970) is one of the rockinest albums ever produced with one of the greatest rock bands that ever came down the pike. If you wanted to learn how to rock, you can't do better.

Originally just these three members made Grand Funk:

    Don Brewer - Drums, Vocals
Marc Farner - Guitar, Vocals, keyboards, harmonica
    Mel Shacher - Bass, Vocals

(they later changed the name to "Grand Funk Railroad" and added Craig Frost to play keyboards)

    This is "Are You Ready"

It's amazing how certain bands defined an era with a very specific sound. This has a Jimi Hendrix vibe.

Always liked GFR. Played lots of their songs and currently are now. Footstompin' Music and Bad Time To Be In Love.

Recorded them at rehearsal last night.

I really loved the Survival album too.
I remember listening to “All you’ve got is Money” and it was spooky hearing the women screaming. Also in the same era listening to Black Sabbath which was spooky also.

Great band, love all their stuff. 1st band I was ever in we covered "Are you ready" it was always our 1st song of the night to get the juices flowing and was always such a fun song to play. In fact I think I will go down stairs and play to it today : )
