I was born in 53...……….so Elvis, Gene Pitney, and Roy Orbison were on the radio...……...and The Beatles were an early influence.
But when I heard Dave Clark for the first time, it was more interesting from a drummer context...…….tremendous fills of all sorts.
Later I was very much into early 70s classic rock...…….Peart and Ian Paice were monsters for me...……….as well as Bonham.
Then the progressive rock hit the air and I was drawn to Bill Bruford, Michael Giles, and Barriemore Barlow.
Today's prog drummers are remarkable but somehow not as enjoyable as the old guys.
Mangini, Portnoy, Harrison, etc.
