Thank you !
The limb independence, the relaxed groove, the variety of percussion, the execution of the kicks... Thoroughly enjoyed this!
Tell us more about how you approached this song.
absolutely awesome. I miss my days of jazz and cuban. I originally went to school for it. Makes me want to bust some out tonight!
Good question ! And thanks for letting me do it!
The approach to this song was exciting but traumatizing at the same time! There are so many things to move and many of them with the left leg. There are a lot of different sounds and you need to memorize where they are on your drumset. So I understood that this piece had to be studied in small parts at a time, repeating and repeating again if it didn't go well, until it was completely assimilated and all the parts memorized. I didn't use sheet music ...
Thank You!
I am happy that the video was of interest to you !
Thanks for the question! This song is part of the Play Along "Afro Cuban Big Band" of the John McCarthy method.
The approach was very stimulating as I found myself having to use many sounds and memorize their position on the Drumset. I realized that it was necessary to study this piece in small parts at a time and memorize it all. It was a song that put me to the test! :-)
Just came back to watch this. Fantastic. You have a lot going on in this song.
