I used to be a huge fan of the HD Dry. I now hate them with a passion

They are lovely snares Whatever combination works for you has to be the right one

I now tune my snares differently (Medium) I like to hear that ring The HD Dry just kills all the tone of the drum for my liking. They still sound good for a really cranked sound though.

I put S-hoops and an Aquarian texture coated gray reflector head on the batter of My Porky and damn what a difference. My favorite snare by far and I have some high end stuff but only gigging my porky BB now.

I put S hoops on my old Mexican Pacific snare. I might try that head. Always experimenting.

I amsurprised it is not more popular, it removes alot of the ringy overtones I hate so much and sounds so good, especially tuned way up high.
