I received my shipment of Gretsch USA shells 44 years ago today (8/26/77).
The lacquer coat is all spider-webbed but otherwise, good as new.

My Ludwigs were bought at Sam Ash in Brooklyn in 1971 or 1972. The set came 13x9,14x10, 16x16, 18x16, and 24x14.

I have been on DC for 10 years now and not 1 person has noticed that my tom mount is a Slingerland Set-O-Matic that has been holding a 14x10 tom for close to 50 years.

    Love those similar sizes, Rick.
During the 70s, those oversized shells were the norm.
Glad we both stuck with them all of these years.
I still believe the 24 bass is the bomb.
