So, has anyone else on here read any of "The Complete Idiots Guide to Playing Drums," or anything similar? I picked it up a while ago, and have to say that it's great. There is notation for rudiments, and it has a seemless "lesson plan" for improving, but is written so that no matter your skill level, you can pick it up where you feel comfortable, and learn something. It teaches basic Jazz, Latin, and Rock grooves, and has a CD included with the author playing each part that he has written, so you can learn along side him. I can't afford drum lessons, but I think this book and probably many like it are a good second best.
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

Great for beginners yes, but I think it has some good stuff for a more advanced player that wants to branch out a bit too. I feel that he covers a lot of ground.

Krys, is there a link to a website for this book? Haven't seen, much less heard of this book, and at first glance, it sounds almost too simplistic--but it sounds like it's worth at least a look...
