that looks like a fun little kit!
I went to see my friend the drum builder play a gig one night with my other friend who happens to be a phenomenal drummer himself. We were both blown away by the sound of the kit he was playing which, of course he had also built. It was a compact 4 piece kit, but sounded huge. The next day I was texting him complementing his playing and the drums and I remarked how my wife liked the picture I showed her of the kit, and she said I should get one. I told her I could never spend the kind of money that one of his kits would cost. He said I'll sell you that one for cost, half what it would normally go for and throw in the gig bags as well. I told the wife that and long story short, they're mine now! And my band just booked a gig for next Saturday so I'll probably use them. Here's a pic from my friend's gig, I haven't had a chance to do a photo shoot myself, as I just picked them up today.

Not a fan of orange but somehow I like it on this kit!
It's actually a mixture of orange and purple in a psychedelic pattern, hence the "Mod Orange" name for the wrap. In the close up you can see the purple better. That may be why you like it!

Never heard of Rukus before, but that looks like a tasty little set-up. Liking the Yamaha Crosstown stands. just got some Crosstowns myself, and holy sh*t are they light.

Rukus is a boutique custom drum company owned by a friend of mine. He builds the drums by hand, using molds he builds as well. The combination of sizes, wood species and number of plies he will do is endless, and the quality and sound are spectacular. He also happens to be a great guy.

Very nice, love the color. Also love the Crosstown hardware. I have had mine for about 2 years now and gigged them quite a bit. Still standing up well with the exception of snare stand is starting to loosen a little bit when playing so I tighten her before every set. They take a beating I can tell ya that.
