That was the least effective for me, and was a compete waste of time but maybe it was the brand. For my Leacy HHX's I find washing them in the tub with warm to hot water, dish towel, and a little dawn dish soap to be the most effective with minimal elbow greaseOriginally Posted by slanddad

.Smear ketchup all over cymbal.Let it sit a few hours.Scrub off using hot water.Dry.

I tried that with Paiste 2002 hi-hats I had purchased used several years ago. Yes, peeps here shunned me for trying it.
No results good or bad.
It wasn't usable for dipping fries in, however,

If not worried about ink stamp logos, bar keepers friend works the best.
Generally I never clean my cymbals anyway but have done it to some.
